A few blog posts that I have been involved in writing have been published in Laurea Journal. They are all in finnish.

Digiohjaus: merkityksellistä toimintaa sekä ohjaajalle että ohjattavalle

In the fall of 2023, I was at the Hakunila Library running a service called E-hetket on behalf of my studies, where once a week, five times in total, I personally helped people with the use of smartphones and laptops. During the guidance, I talked to many people in general about the difficulties of using modern technology and the digitalization of the world. Based on my experiences, I wrote an article for Laurea Journal.

Opiskelijalta opiskelijalle – ProjektiTori-tapahtuman toteuttaminen ja kehittäminen opiskelijaprojekteina

In spring 2023, as part of the Marketing Fundamentals study unit, we organized Laurea University of Applied Sciences' twice-yearly ProjektiTori event, where Laurea's key partners and other stakeholders can come to campus to present their activities to students, and students could potentially get information from them about internships, summer jobs, or thesis topics.

In this article, I wrote about our organizing team's thoughts on organizing the event and collecting feedback.

Game Projects

I have participated in small scale game projects both in school and free time.

Banana Surfer

The final project of a game production course at Business College Helsinki from 2019. The player plays as a character named Mitch Mackenzie, who surfs on a giant rubber banana. The player's task is to collect flags to accumulate enough points to pass the level. At the same time, they must watch out for seagulls that take away life points.

I made the game from start to finish myself using the Unity game engine using C#. All graphics are drawn by me.

Blood And Doubt

Three of my friends and I participated in a game jam called Ludum Dare in 2019. The theme of the event was “Your Life Is Currency,” so we created a game where the player’s life bar depletes every time they move their character, and they have to stop occasionally to regain their life. There are several brutal traps in the fields, which if hit will send the player back to the beginning of the field. The game is completed when all three fields have been walked to the end.

I created the character design and animations + the logo and user interface graphics for this game.

Treasure in the Depths

Three of my friends and I participated in a Game Jam event called Alakajam in 2020, and the theme was voted “Depth”. We created a game where the player is inside a diving bell that has fallen off a ship and is diving into the depths. They have to watch out for sea mines and sea monsters, or shoot them with a harpoon. The game ends when the player reaches the bottom and finds “treasure”.

I made almost all the graphics for this game, except for the logo and the user interface.
