Jutta Schneider's Shopping List
Milk, cheese, margarine, and, of course, some good Finnish bread
The first project of Laurea University of Applied Sciences' JavaScript course, albeit with a little twist. The idea was to make a simple JavaScript application, but my student partner and I decided to take inspiration from the video series called Kuulostaa hyvältä, which is a Finnish language teaching series that has become a meme. In the third episode of the series, the main character Jutta Schneider goes to the grocery store with her friend Anssi and starts listing the things they plan to buy.
This app works in the same way as any shopping list, where you type the name of your planned item in the field, and by pressing a button it is added to the list, and you can cross out and remove things from the list when the shopping trip is done. This version is a bit more gamified, where the user has to watch the previously mentioned Kuulostaa hyvältä episode 3, and listen carefully to what things Jutta buys. These things are then entered into the shopping list, and an audio clip from the episode is played for correct answers.
