More innovative job seeking<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Employment of Partially Able People (OSTY) is a project that aims to raise awareness of the employment challenges of partially able-bodied people. The original assignment from them was a way to gamify the purpose of this project. However, my student partner and I were inspired to develop a completely new concept for job searching, in which the skills and needs of both the job seeker and the employer would play a major role, and the right combination of these could have a long-term employment impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The purpose of this application is to be the easiest, fastest and simplest way to apply for a job, without any kind of application clicking. The user would just create a profile, make choices about their skills and working methods through a form, and then they would be shown the jobs that best match their choices. The same would work the other way around; the employer could also use their own profile to search for employees who are suitable for their own needs. A job application or interview request would be sent by simply pressing the like button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The application is developed with React, and the database is Google Firebase. This prototype version does not have any kind of login system, but the user can still simulate the job search of the original idea of \u200b\u200bthe application by selecting the most suitable options from the form, and the application then returns the most suitable companies from the database, and shows in percentage how much it matches the user's selections. The application also has a heart-shaped like button for each displayed company, although it currently only opens a notification in the browser. You can also directly add synthetic companies to the database with this version of the app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
